The product that lasted a lifetime
When was the last time you bought a product that lasted a lifetime? It does not occur frequently. Most products last little after the warranty runs out. Think of how many products you have bought time and time again. Why do we as consumers put up with this? obsolescence obsolescence is the need for a company to design products that brake within certain amount of time. This allows the company to keep selling a product and making a profit. On the contrary, the company will go out of business if it designed a product a lasted a lifetime. It would not have enough sells to support itself or the price of the product would have to be too high.
Many of us have bought an endless amount of computers, cellulars, cars, CDs, televisions and many other stuff that probably landed in a landfill. Most of the materials used in building this stuff are the cheapest materials available and don't take into account the environmental consequences in the decomposition of that product after it have been used.
This is a call for us as consumers to start demanding products that last a lifetime or a change in the rules of the game for it to allow this kind of products
